Surghive (formerly Robohive) has been awarded the Tech Start-Up Award at the Tees Tech Business Awards 2026; recognition of our platform-agnostic VR training infrastructure designed to solve the NHS’s robotic surgical training bottleneck. The award validates our clinically-led approach to scaling robotic surgery training a solution built from first principles by the surgeons who lived the problem, and endorsed through three LOIs from robotic manufacturers, training institutions and Royal Colleges.
The world class founding team inclusive of two Robotic surgeons, one an internationally acclaimed Professor of surgery the other a serial entrepresneur with an MBA in AI. Plus an ex-PWC director, chartered accountant and a CTO with over 10 years in the VR space. Surghive’s standardised, cost-effective approach has been proven in small test beds and now moves into its next phase a UK national pilot programme commencing in Q3 2026.
This award signals momentum and clinical credibility. We’re accelerating through raising a pre-seed round to fund the National Pilot alongside grant funds to allow acceleration from proof-of-concept into national deployment, and we’re doing it from the Tees Valley a region now positioning itself as a hub for tech innovation.
