Rapid Fluidics Ltd Announces Significant Team Expansion

Rapid Fluidics Ltd., the first commercial company to exclusively offer 3D printed microfluidic design and manufacturing services, recently expanded its team by adding a Director, US Business Development, and two Biomechanical Engineers to assist with expanded growth requirements.

Rapid Fluidics Ltd, located in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, was founded in 2020 as a design and rapid-prototyping consultancy that specializes in custom microfluidic systems including test chips, large and small manifolds, vascular models, and integrated systems such as sensors and pumps.

The use of 3D printing and the team’s engineering expertise for design and manufacturing lead to shorter delivery and iteration times and therefore facilitate a faster development time and market launch for diagnostic and medical devices. The ability to 3D print and duplicate various existing products can overcome supply chain issues, delivery delays, and reduce costs as well.

Recently joined is Robert King as Director, US Business Development. Rob brings 20+ years of experience in International sales, marketing and business management for analytical instrument businesses including medical devices, software, capital equipment, consumables and pharmaceuticals and will be managing and building upon our growing US customer base. Along with Rob we welcome two new Biomechanical Engineers Kirsty Donaldson and Michael Annang-Colquhoun, both recently graduated with masters degrees in mechanical engineering (biomedical engineering) from Newcastle University. They will add significant engineering expertise and manufacturing capacity capabilities to augment our expanding manufacturing and customer engagement needs. We will also welcome a new Project Manager/Operations professional in early November to assist with customer support and operations management which will further improve our ability to adapt to our increasing requests for custom 3D printed designs and parts.
