NIHR i4i FAST Awards Pilot Scheme – supporting innovation and regulatory gaps

The i4i FAST (Funding At the Speed of Translation Awards) is a new funding scheme that is now running. The Awards provide between £15k to £50k of funding for projects that can last from 3 to 6 months. Decisions to fund are made within 6 to 8 weeks.

This call is designed to address an evidence need, or gap across many technology readiness levels, and covers a range of innovation, product development and regulatory areas (including projects that might not have been funded in the recent CPI Health Technology Regulatory and Innovation Programme).

The scope is broad and typically involves de-risking a project or consolidating the innovation’s foundation, and should address a specific gap in knowledge. Medilink can provide consultancy support in:

• Market/competitor/technology reports

• Regulatory (UKCA/ CE) projects including clinical evaluation plans and reports

• Value proposition and business case development.
