Innovate UK Launchpad funding available to West Yorkshire SMEs

Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, has launched a funding competition open to companies active or growing work activities in the health technology innovation cluster in West Yorkshire.

Launchpad: health technology, West Yorkshire, Round 1 Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA)

UK registered SMEs can apply for a share of up to £2 million for projects that grow activities in the health technology innovation cluster in West Yorkshire.

Your project’s grant funding request must be between £25,000 and £100,000 for projects lasting between 6 and 12 months.

Your project can focus on one or more of the following:

  • medical devices
  • diagnostics, including In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD)
  • digital health, including data driven health technologies and artificial intelligence (AI)
  • other health technology innovations that can be shown to be in scope

Your project can focus on one or more of the following themes:

  • overcoming health inequalities
  • global net zero challenges in healthcare
  • major health conditions
  • the prevention of disease
  • earlier and better detection and diagnosis of disease

The closing date is 13th December 2023.

Launchpad: health technology, West Yorkshire, Round 1 Collaborative Research and Development (CR&D)

There is also a collaborative strand to the Launchpad funding opportunity. As well as being active or growing your work activities in the health technology innovation cluster in West Yorkshire, you must collaborate with other UK registered organisations.

To lead a project you must

  • be a UK registered business of any size
  • be or involve at least one grant claiming SME
  • collaborate with other UK registered organisations
  • be active or growing your work activities in the health technology innovation cluster in West Yorkshire
  • have a demonstrable ambition for business growth

To collaborate with the lead, your organisation must be one of the following UK registered:

  • business of any size
  • academic institution
  • charity
  • not for profit
  • public sector organisation
  • research and technology organisation (RTO)

Your project’s total grant funding request must be between £150,000 and £1 million and projects must last between 6 and 18 months and the closing date is 13th December 2023.
