Foreword from Tom Elliott, Medilink’s Managing Director

It seems unbelievable that Medilink is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. From its roots as a Yorkshire based support organisation to a North of England wide professional association and consultancy, we have changed significantly since 1997 but in many ways, things have also remained the same.

Our dedication to the sector has remained steadfast, but our ability to help organisations grow, connect and prosper has increased.  When I joined Medilink in 2013 our international capabilities were developing, and now we are the largest UK pavilion at MEDICA and have a significant presence at exhibitions in The Middle East, Asia, USA, Africa and Europe. Medilink Yorkshire & Humber transformed into Medilink North of England in 2017 and despite a pandemic we are still going strong thanks to the commitment of the team in Sheffield and the dedicated Medilink teams across the country.

Since 2002 the Medilink Healthcare Business Awards have helped shine a light on the success of organisations across the North of England, particularly where organisations have collaborated with one another to improve patient care, so I am pleased that our awards continue to go from strength to strength every year. If you didn’t apply this year, I would encourage you to give it a go in 2023 – the awards are a fantastic way for companies to highlight their achievements and network with others.

As well as Medilink’s 25th, 2022 also marks our 20th annual awards ceremony, which we celebrated via the traditional evening format with a day at York Racecourse the next day. I hope you were able to join us for what was a very enjoyable event.

Finally, as I look forward to the coming decades, I am confident the sector in the North of England will continue to develop and make a significant impact on patient care and the regional economy. I would like to close by thanking our Board and three regional advisory groups which provide invaluable support to Medilink and enable us to continue to play such an important role within the sector.
