Medilink has stepped up to support the Northern Powerhouse initiative, joining forces with the Government to help the North achieve its full potential- and attract new jobs and investments to the region.
The proposal, introduced by the 2010-15 coalition government, has assembled like-minded businesses that believe in the North’s potential and wish to promote its growth.
With Medilink, the initiative has reached 31 partners, which will be consulted on the direction of the campaign and are encouraged to pitch innovative ideas on how to drive forward the North’s economy and boost its strengths.
The scheme will focus on regional developments across science, innovation, transport and culture. Other partners include high profile companies such as Manchester Airport, Atkins Global and Northern Power Women.
The Chief Secretary to the Treasury, David Gauke, said:
“We are determined to create a Northern Powerhouse and are clear we must work closely with businesses to pool the abundance of talent across the North to make this a reality.”
He added: “Today dozens of bold businesses are sending a clear message by joining us in this quest to make the Northern Powerhouse an even better place to live, work and invest in.”
