Healthcare Technology Cooperative Foundation seeks Work Experience Opportunities

The Healthcare Technology Cooperative Foundation (HTCf) would like to invite SMEs and other interested parties to discuss the possibility of students attending project or work experience internships for shorter periods of time to gain valuable work experience in industry areas of interest.

HTCf is a student-led group at University of Leeds that aims to foster enthusiasm in healthcare innovation and biotechnology amongst science and healthcare-related students.

The group’s main activity is an educational “Innovation Programme” that comprises of a “Hack Event”, where students are introduced to a series of unmet clinical needs in surgery; a “Dragon’s Den” style event, where students are challenged to pitch ideas for solving these unmet needs; and a series of workshops to develop ideas in an educational setting. Later in the programme, students are supported by leaders from NIHR HTC Colorectal Therapies in pursuing summer internship opportunities.

Last year's HTCf Internships were excellent and the fact that the student teams are presenting their work at national conferences in the coming months is a huge achievement. This year we are looking to identify multidisciplinary projects and to promote these for small teams of students to become involved with.  As well as these 'project internships' we hope to offer a series of potentially shorter 'work experience internships' in areas of industry, to give students a broader range of opportunities to become involved with.
