Medilink UK, the membership based representative body dedicated to the growth of the UK Healthcare Technologies sector, is working in association with Santander to launch a new UK pavilion at ExpoMED 2016 to help fuel ambitious UK businesses to trade overseas.
Held from 8th to 10th June in Mexico City, Mexico, ExpoMED is the most important international healthcare forum in the country and attracts decision makers, experts, health professionals, distributors, trade professionals, private care institutions and educational institutions, as well as members of medical societies and organisations in the sector.
Santander is offering £2,000 of funding support for eligible companies, and as a result exhibitor packages are priced from just £2,650. Each organisation exhibiting with Medilink and Santander will receive an individual pod with a shared meeting area, accommodation for one delegate for the duration of the event, assistance from Santander in learning about the Mexican market and gaining in-market contacts, access to shared interpreters on site and full project management support from Medilink UK specialist staff surrounding the show.
Jonathan Rostron, Head of Breakthrough, Santander UK said “We are delighted to be working with Medilink in helping UK businesses explore their potential in this market. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are vital to growth and job creation in the UK economy but their potential is often constrained by a lack of support in terms of finance, marketing, operations and sourcing talented people. Breakthrough aims to bridge this gap by offering fast-growth, ambitious SMEs a suite of support initiatives. Delegates on this mission will benefit from access to our network of business advisers and customers in Mexico as well as funding support for their participation”
Peter Wheeler, Medilink International manager, said: “Mexico already has a well-developed healthcare system in both the public and private sectors but with significant scope for expansion and improvement, plus a Free Trade Agreement is in place with the EU. These elements together make it a highly attractive market for UK companies to export to and we are delighted to work in association with Santander to offer this package at an extremely attractive price.”
Mexico is the largest medical device importer in Latin America, with healthcare spending scheduled to grow by 8.2% annually until 2018 with $5.6bn set aside as part of a plan to improve Mexico’s national infrastructure, including healthcare.
